Project Examples

The following anonymized examples illustrate selected situations in which I took responsibility for commercial growth, organizational development and business transformation. They range from building new business areas and commercial structures and developing international business to optimizing sales, e-commerce and digital business processes. My approach combines strategic perspective with hands-on execution: identify opportunities, build the right commercial and operational structures, and create the conditions to scale.

01

Building a New Product Category - From Market Opportunity to Profitable Business

Starting Point
New product categories can create significant growth opportunities, but they need to be built on a commercially viable foundation from the start. Market and trend analysis, supplier structures, assortment, forecasting, procurement, pricing and sales all need to work together.
My Contribution
Building and developing a new product category with an eight-figure annual procurement volume. The focus included identifying relevant market trends and products, developing strategic supplier relationships, procurement and inventory planning, forecasting, and continuous portfolio steering and optimization. Market potential, procurement, assortment and sales requirements were managed as one connected commercial system, enabling the category to develop step by step into a strategically relevant and profitable business segment.
Business Value
Creation of a new and sustainable business area with clear commercial structures. Improved procurement and inventory decisions, combined with market-driven portfolio management, established a strong foundation for further growth and scaling.
02

Commercial & Organizational Transformation of a Large Business Unit

Starting Point
As organizations grow, Customer Operations, sales processes and collaboration across Key Account Management, E-Commerce, Master Data and other commercial functions become increasingly complex. Historically grown structures can lead to friction, unclear ownership and limited scalability.
My Contribution
Responsibility for the organizational and operational development of a large business unit with a nine-figure annual revenue scope and teams of more than 20 employees. The focus included redesigning organizational and sales structures, integrating sales channels, Key Account Management, the B2B online shop and Master Data Management, and improving allocation, approval and operational steering processes. Internal capabilities were strengthened through the development and training of ERP key users. Combining leadership, process optimization and change management made it possible to develop structures across the commercial organization rather than addressing individual functions in isolation.
Business Value
A clearer and more efficient organization with improved ownership and more scalable processes. The transformation strengthened operational stability, supported the continued development of the business and created a more robust foundation for future growth.
03

International Business Development & Commercial Growth

Starting Point
International expansion requires more than identifying new markets. Customer structures, suppliers, pricing, sales channels and internal processes need to work together so that market potential can be converted into sustainable business.
My Contribution
Strategic sales steering and international business development within a business with a nine-figure annual revenue scope. The focus included developing commercial opportunities in existing and new markets, managing strategic key accounts and building long-term customer and partner relationships. Business Development was connected with E-Commerce, operational sales processes, Category Management and internal transformation initiatives so that market opportunities could not only be identified, but also translated into viable organizational and operational execution.
Business Value
Strengthened long-term customer relationships and a structured approach to developing international commercial opportunities. Strategic market and customer development was consistently connected with the operational capabilities required for sustainable growth.
04

Digital Commerce, CRM, ERP & Master Data Transformation

Starting Point
Growth and digitalization increase the demands placed on the entire commercial system and process landscape. Webshop, CRM, ERP, product and customer data, ordering processes, availability, approvals and internal ownership need to work together. Historically grown systems and disconnected processes can limit efficiency, data quality and scalability.
My Contribution
Holistic development of digital and system-supported business processes at the intersection of Business, E-Commerce and IT. This included the implementation and further development of CRM, ERP and webshop processes, data migration and Master Data Management, the design of practical workflows, and the optimization of product presentation, ordering, release, approval and allocation processes. The scope also covered coordinating cross-functional and international stakeholders, aligning operational requirements with strategic business objectives, and training and developing users and key users. Within an international, group-wide IT transformation program, a particular focus was placed on harmonizing and scaling webshop, master data and ERP processes.
Business Value
Stronger alignment between Business and IT resulted in more stable, standardized and scalable digital processes. Improved data and process quality strengthened day-to-day commercial operations across Sales, E-Commerce and Marketing. Technical developments were consistently driven by actual business requirements, while digital sales channels were further developed and more closely connected with the overall commercial strategy and operations - creating a stronger foundation for further growth and scalability.
